Too long, it dragged on in its attempts to be a gothic novel It s basically the novel Rebecca, the new wife haunted by the dead first wife s memory Lottie was an ok heroine, Hayden was stupid, Allegra was horrific, disliked all the household staff servants, etc Definitely wasn t worth the read to me I was bored.

This book started off great, with witty dialogues and fun situations The MCs were endearing and I couldn t wait to watch them fall in love But then the tone of the book changed abruptly, it became somber and angsty The dead wife, the ghost, the new setting, the unruly daughter, it was all too much The writing was fantastic, and if the entire story from beginning to end had carried a gothic undertone, then I probably would ve enjoyed it But after a sensational, lighthearted start, I ended up som [...]

Look this book is readable because Teresa Medeiros is a good writer On the other hand, some serious Jane Eyre moments going on here Way too many plot points and characters Harriet Ned Townsend Ghost Old crone teacherThe paranormal aspect definitely could have been omitted The beginning of the story and first couple chapters were great with Hayden and Lottie displaying fantastic friction, sexual tension, and chemistry Their competing dialogue had me highly anticipating their relationship Unfortun [...]

This was a good bookflushed out charactersold theme but new way of presenting itbut for some reason I don t finish a Medeiros book with that elusive sense of closure and contentment I am not sure what is missing from her booksI just don t walk away from it being fully satisfied.

A very pleasant way to spend your reading time Teresa Medeiros always tells a good tale.

I love Teresa Medeiros writing she creates such vivid pictures, it doesn t take a whole lot of imagination to see her stories I loved the gothic feel of this story Cornwall, the moors, the cliffs by the sea I loved it all This story was also very Jane Eyre esque, which I loved However, there wasn t enough interaction between the H h for their love to be believable I craved time between the two of them, especially once the conflict was resolved.

Another reviewer said to just read the first book about Laura and Sterling and to skip this book I agree I couldn t stand Lottie when she was a kid in Laura s book and I was going to skip her book I decided to give it a try anyway, but I m not reading another book about a bratty kid It s a shame Ms Medeiros had to resort to this particular plot device two books in a row because I normally love her writing.

This was a fantastic story This book is the sequel to A KISS TO REMEMBER, but really stands alone I didn t read the first book and it didn t take away anything from my enjoyment for this book.The characters come alive in this story with a wide range and depth of emotions and personality The heroine, Carlotta, tries to make the best of the situation she finds herself in, being married to a man who is rud to have murdered his first wife and stepmother to a little girl who is both older and wiser t [...]

My thoughts are still in a bit of a jumble about this book Where to start Oh, Hayden, of course Dark and brooding, curt, not arrogant really, though he probably was before he became known as the Murderous Marquess, the nickname given to him after his first wife took a dive from a cliff Of course he was wildly attracted to Lottie as soon as he met her Of course after inadvertently putting her in a compromising position he gave in and married her, even though the last thing he wanted was a wife Of [...]

Lottie escapes her debut to go poking around the supposed murderer s house next door armed with an artfully torn bodice and a whole lot of gumption Hayden, said shady murder neighbor, discovers her and ends up kissing her face off because boners After some wrangling, they end up married and in Cornwall where boners allegedly go to die WHAT HAPPENS NEXT 1 I REALLY LIKED THIS until the end 2 The bits between the ruination and wedding were hard but great Sterling can t fix it They ve ruined her for [...]

It s never a good sign when I decide I ve had enough of a romance just as the sex scene is beginning It usually means, as it does in this case, that I have absolutely no faith whatsoever in the connection between the two characters, and that the chemistry has utterly failed I ve rarely seen less chemistry between two characters I didn t dislike either one of them, nor did I find them inherently incomparable, I just felt like every instance of the two touching, kissing, or even thinking about the [...]

This book had it s high and low moments but I thought the plot was a little haphazard Too much thrown in The paranormal references were totally unnecessary and unappreciated on my part at least I liked Lottie better in the first book I guess I wanted a bit rebellion and wildness from her other than just her annoying screaming I definitely liked Laura and Sterling s story a lot , with plenty of good humour it made me smile plenty of times despite the overused story line This book had me smiling [...]
